New wheels on Crazy's wagon!

Well I got some new rims for her today, just put them on to see how the fitment was and I'm actually loving the look of them without any banding or anything.



You're probably reading that and thinking "banding"?? What's the crazy idiot on about...........she's sitting on steelies!! I am officially going rat on the ovlov! :D 8)



They're really filthy, the nuts stick out like mad, and I love the look of it :D Will get some better pics in the day when I get to work tomorrow but here's some quick pics now.

Hahaa, yup, you know it!!

Satin black below the bump strips and on the roof, battleship grey on the rest, with a rusted hood. Ropes around the door handles too :D

I know it's not something that many of you are going to like to see done to a nice condition 850, let alone a T5!! But she's got a few carpark dings and scratches so she could do with a respray, so I'm gonna go rat cos I think it'll really suit the car and be unique too :D

It is kind of ironic that these days with cars lasting such a long time that we have to foster the rat look. Believe me, when I first started driving, they had automated rat-look built into them - ie looked like shi'ite after about five years anyway!

Good luck with that one though. Why not? I had an Imp Californian (Imp Coupe) that I sanded back to bare metal, primed with Holts aerosol - and then forgot to do anything for about two years. That looked pretty ratty - although I don't think such things were appreciated in the late 80's...

It'll be satin black, satin grey with a rusted hood on her. Gonna sand the hood back in the next couple of days and just leave it to rust with the help of some salt water in a spray bottle. Painting will be when I have the money to do it :D

Yea, gonna get some 20mm spacers on there I reckon, will help with the stance. Though I may just drop it like 40 / 60mm and then the wheels like that will be spot on :D Mmmmmm, can you say negative camber? lol


Gonna get the angle grinder on there either tomorrow or Friday I think to attack the hood, get all that horrible paint and galv crap off and start the rusting process :D

The badges are gonna be modified. Change the Volvo badge to read "OVLOV", keep the 850 one, and write "RA" infront of the T-5 badge :D

Yep, definitely got iron in there, starting to get a few spots of rust coming through on the bits that are down to bare metal at the moment :D

Gonna take the hood off on Tuesday and get it all sanded back down and stripped off whilst I have a day off :D

Gonna get to work on the hood tomorrow as it's a day off work for me so I can get all the paint off and let the mass rusting commence ready for ISTS. Very tempted to take the hood off n get it in the garage ready for the work tomorrow now, but I dunno where the tarp to cover the exposed bay is. Guess I'm gonna have a look for it!

The rat look didn't die out last year or anything. Ratting out Corsas and other things like that did, but the rat look has been around for decades. I have mates in the states who have been driving ratted out cars since the late 80s and I even know a couple of people who still have their rat rides from the 40s and 50s!!!!!




Well I've done the hood now, it's all down to the bare metal and I am debating on if I should laquer it like it is or let it rust? I am thinking rust will look more rat, and not dazzle other drivers when we do get sun, but it is getting some good looks driving round with the hood like this :D

Quite probably, my last 2 cars have been vandalized, but the person I think it was is now being monitored by the police, and they know it, so I've not had any trouble. Both were keyed quite badly.

But then again, the last 2 cars I've had were really nice looking and modified to look smart. I don't think anyone would see the point in vandalizing / keying a ratted out car, cos it'll be going matt black and matt grey so if anything does happen to it, just a quick spray over and it's all good again :D

I hate vandals I just dont understand there mentality. The V40 was sitting behind my dads Landy at the side of the house the other nite and it got keyed along with an astra that was beside me It takes the piss. Someone scuffed the corner of the front bumper and drove off last month. Whats the point having a decent car? I just had that thing resprayed as well.

Yea, it's kinda that sorta thing of thinking "what's the point of having a decent car" that is making me want to do this. It's my own little way of giving 2 fingers to the dicks who have been keying my cars.

I know they won't do anything more cos they know my cars are alarmed, but the alarms don't go off on keyings :mad:



I hate people like that, that just like damaging other people's stuff. There's no point to it, doesn't gain anything, just really annoys me :mad:
