Fuel Gauge not work.

Hi peeps.

My fuel gauge is stuck at about 7 gallon, it will go up but will not go down.

Do i need to remove the take to take the fuel sending out? Will giving it a good wack free it up?

theirs 2 inspection panels (1 for the pump & the other i assume in the sender) in the boot floor just behind the rear seat under the carpet
