Well I did a post the other day saying when I got bored before work and installed some 6.5" speakers in the front doors, and thought I'd show off the rest of the audio in the wagon :D

Front Doors - 5.25" Alpines and 6.5" Infinitys

Trunk - 2x 10" Kicker L5 subs on a Vibe Blackbox Bass4 amp (and FYI, yes, I can ride the unicycle lol)

With all the speaker covers, I removed the foam stuff on the back and cleared out the cross bar things to give it a cleaner look

That thing must be like a Hi-fi on Wheels!

Make sure the pressure wave on the low bass doesn't collapse your lungs ;)

What's with the Unicycle, is that cause you're one wheel short of a pair ? :)

I have more speakers to go in there too (another 6 to be exact  ), and another amp too!!!! ;)

The pressure isn't that much from the subs cos I listen to a lot of rock / metal music so it's not too heavy on the bass, but it's enough to knock the rear view mirror off

Unicycle was from a promotion thing at work to do with the Nokia X6 - had to be entertaining so I was riding that thing LOL And at the Fast Show on Sunday so gonna ride it round there too haha

nice install & must admit i do like Vibe myself, no offence intended but i think your overkilling the mid-range with 6.5, 5.25 & 4's so close together. I had 5.25's in the door & tweeters in the dash, they used to sell a door card which removed the front door pocket & had fitment for an 8 which would of done the mid-low nice but never got round to it

you only running the sub amplified? & what cross-overs you using?

The way they're set up on the head unit, I'm running the 4" as big ass tweeters and then the frequency ranges on the 5.25" and 6.5" speakers mean that they compliment each other nicely. The Vibes are more focussed on bass whereas the Infinitys are more focused on mid - high range.

Yea, I'm only running the subs off an amp at the moment, but the internal amp in the head unit is more than enough at the moment to run the speakers. I will be amping them though at a later date when I've added more to the mix.

It all depends on what sort of music you listen to depends on what set up you'll want. I have done installs for friends before who only listen to drum and bass so I installed 8" subs and 5.25" and 6" speakers around the car because that's what they needed.

Personally, I listen to everything from country to classical, rock to rap, and everything inbetween, so for my listening, a collection of midranges like that is what I need.

Just going to add some 6x9s into a custom box in the trunk to get some more sounds coming from the back.

All I can say is that it looks pretty LOUD!

You are only about five miles from here so turn it up a bit and I'll have a listen!

Hahaa, well, my old Honda you probably heard cos it was loud as hell!! Had about a 4 mile range just on the exhaust system  hehe

But yea, it is very loud. Was at the garage last night with some mates and set off a car alarm, and the car was about 20 metres away!!!!!!!!! :D

like yourself i listen to anything from Prodigy to Celine Dion. I'd try to get the 6x9's in the front replacing the 6's, then fit the 6's into the rear C pillar (if they'll fit) to give your rear-fill. Again 6x9's are a very bassy speaker & will give a bit of deepness to the front nicely. I only ran a 11speaker system in BT with a speaker size difference from 15" for the sub to 5" for the components & even then only had a couple of hundred hz missing from the low-midbass which wasn't noticable when playing normal music

again not critising your work

I was looking to fit the 6x9s into the front doors, but they'd need a baffle cos of the depth of my 6x9s, and they're just a bit too heavy too (my 6x9s are pretty immense!!)

Not much fits into the rear pillars from what I've seen, so I'm going to just make a box with speakers in to use instead

Wow that's a lot of speakers. You must like your music really bright :)

Sorry to butt in, but do you have any details on these?

I'm in the early stages of planning my install which will have a 3 way active front end, including 8" CDT midbass in the doors. I was expecting to have to modify and/or fabricate my own door cards, but if there's a ready made option available it's got to be worth a look.

Thanks,
Andy.

Just realised my error - the 5.25" speaker in the front doors and 6.5" speakers in the rear doors are Alpines, not Vibes  Meant to buy Vibes but the Alpines were better value and crisper sound than the Vibes were.

And yes Andy, I really do love my music. Used to work in the music industry for a few years and spent so long listening to music that these days, my life feels weird and empty when I'm not listening to music.
