As the title says really.

I have a S80 T6 on LPG but only getting 15.4mpg out of her.
On a good run this will get to the dizzy heights of 20mpg
whether on petrol or gas makes no diffrence, only to my wallet.Even when driving in grandad mode...lol

Prob needs new lamba sensors but dosn't report any errors.Just scraped through last MOT on emmissions.

Would like to take this in to a reputable shop and get it looked at, any sugestions would be helpful. Im based in Sheffield but not afraid to travel.

there are reports of these doing upto 30mpg, im a realist if i could get 20 on a regular basis id be happy.

Cheers

First things first go and get the fault codes read, see if anythings been logged, that will give you an idea of what if anything is causing your poor MPG.

I have had 2 S80 T6.s and each one only did on average about 22mpg. My last T6 was traded in in 2007 for a Jagaur 4.2 supercharged S Type R 2004. I averaged 26mpg in the Jag much better than the T6. The fuel consumtion on the T6 has always been poor. Not much help I Know but I would have thought. depending on age if you get it checked you may get better mpg on lpg or petrol. Get a V8 they are even better on lpg. I am now averageing 32mpg on my new T5.

TBH it could be the O2 (lambda) it could be the recirc valve is leaking, or a boost leak is causing a loss of pressure & it may be another sensor (AIT for instance) that could be smudging the ECUs guess at what to fuel.

The LPG conversion just adds a whole other set of possible issues to the mix.

A good service of all the usual suspects is a start (and of course as TC said the codes will help) & then maybe get an LPG conversion specialist to check that side too.

Not going to be too much help either, but my T6 only does 18 mpg on a very good day, and its tuned using bsr ppc. In the snow over xmas i managed to get it down to single figures ooooooooops

forgot to say mine hasnt got lpg, but i thought cars used this at the same rate as petrol.. might be wrong but i have been checking out range rovers with lpg as a second car and they do 8mpg on both lpg and petrol.............. make the volvos fuel consumption seem good!!
