So I'm doing a manual swap on my automatic and I've run into a problem and hoping maybe someone on here knows something. I'm getting a little help from various other forums and people but figured the more the better. Anyway here is my problem:

Everything is done beside the linkage because that is where my problem is. Everytime I mount the cables (correct way and everything) the shifter is being pulled to the left (Driver side, I'm in the US). Obviously a problem, since it should sit nice and center. The cable that is giving me that problem is the one that controls the horizontal throw (left and right) which hooks up to the steel lever arm on the outside of the trannny. Which doesn't allow me to get to 1+2.

So, from my diagnostic of it I came up with...when I take the cable off the lever arm and move the cable all the way in (this would be 1+2) and the steel arm left untouched is 3+4 (it has three positions...one for 1+2, one for 3+4 and one for 5+R). So when I do that, I can almost put the cable on the lever, as you can see that's a problem. The cable that is in 1+2 almost fits onto the lever that is in 3+4.

My problem is I think there is too much cable, not sure if it's been stretched or something. Anyway here are some pics:

(cable is in 1+2 and lever is in 3+4 in that pic and below pic too):

Any help would be great!

Thanks.
