Any ideas on my v70 t5 turbo probs

i bought a v70 t5 estate 2 days ago as i think there great
its black has the t5 wheels spoiler leather etc etc
i drove the car back home and when i got up in the morning went out in it
with the missus and it started to make a loud whining noise so my first thought was the inter cooler pipes or inter cooler but iv had them all of and checked them and cant find and splits so once i put it all back together it wasnt any different
also my turbo has stopped boosting so i was wondering if any one could tell me there thoughts
i suspect the turbo has gone
i tried to move the propeller in the turbo when the pipes were off and it didn't move side to side much but did slide back and forth quiet a bit

and help would be gratefull

Without actually looking at the car its very hard to give an exact diagnosis to your problems. It does sound as if your turbo is in need of a rebuild though especially if the shaft moves back and forth as they are not meant to at all. I would get a good mechanic to give you car a once over locally to you.

the engine sounds perfect on tick over
then when you drive it and rev it it doesnt boost it just makes a really loud squelling noise
and it sounds like its coming from the turbo when you put your head right next to it
i didnt think it was ment to move back and forth i just dont want to get a new tubo then relise it isnt that but im pretty sure it is

ill get it allong to a garage tomorrow
are they hard to change i have changed a few before on renault 5 turbo's and escort rs turbos but these look a tad harder lol

sounds like the turbo 2 me...dont risk driveing it mate if that went loads of damage...

cheers Phil, iv been looking at rebuilding it my self what sort of money is a kit to rebuild it
as i dont really have the funds available to buy a new one and dont really want to risk a second hand one

are they hard to remove (the turbo from engine)

lol..just about 2 start this job as well,,i no that u can get rebuild kits about £50 on ebay..not a fan of the kit..wait till a turbo comes up 4 sale,or do the one thats on the car mate,got a good link that i will be useing got it off here i think not sure do a search on here mate..:funkybana

Afraid I cannot help you but don't suppose it was the one Woodham Car Sales was offering with 108k on a 52 plate by any chance ?
