Looks like they've done a nice job, i think you mentioned that Volvo installed the tints, just out of curiousity do you know whether the technicians fitted them or whether they got someone in to do it?

Don't mind the question, I wanted the Volvo dealer to do it as some time ago I had a S80 T6 window tints and it fecked the radio up. The funny thing about this time was that I had a quote for £180.00 for the rear five windows the specialist needed my car for the day and would install at his own garage. Felt a bit iffy. Funny thing was that my Volvo dealer uses the same man for all their window tints. So it cost me through the dealer £240 but if anything goes wrong I can just drop it back to the dealer so I get a Volvo warranty. Just me I know. Must admit I did a comparison to a new XC90 and their was no difference so well chuffed. The name of the company was Carbon Shades - 07536 116 750.

Presumably they provide a film to do the tinting? My fear with tinting is that it can tear if you catch it with anything.

Window film is mylar with an adhesive backing. I have to say anything that would damage the film (if it's installed correctly) would like as not smash the window. The chances of your young 'uns being able to damage it is pretty slim.

There is a distinct advantage in that if the window does get broken the adhesive film prevents the glass from flying everywhere.

You can score the film though, which is then a pain to eliminate.

I suppose if i have some tart in the back seat rubbing her diamond ring on the tinting I may have a problem with scoring after scored. Will have to watch that one. LOL

Make sure she doesn't have a ragged toe nail. May damage the tints too!

No idea if that price is competitive or not, but if I were going to get it done, I wouldn't be unhappy with that.

Wish I had the money to do tints. However have to say mine looks very much like its been tinted with the rear sun blinds fitted to side and rear window.

She looks loverly and the tints look great. I don't know what it is, but a Volvo estate like the V70, just feels like a proper Volvo, where as a saloon does not.

Had the full set but the blinds for pass window were roller type and very expensive so returned them. Now only got the three. Say £14.00 + postage or pick up.
