Just changed the 17" Amaltheas for 17" Comets.
The change in appeqarance is amazing. The new wheels have been completely refurbished and are in the original Anthracite colour...
Chuffed to bits.

What do you think?

I was after some Orestes but none available (however, I have just seen a set on e bay from my own little Welsh town!!!!) Still, no going back now

What are you doing with the Amaltheas, and are they shagged ?

I am selling the Amaltheas in order to get some funds back in the bank!
They are in the 'for sale' forum without photos. (yet)
They aren't shagged but need a refurb. Previous owner seemed to use the rims as Kerb magnets.
All straight with no rim damage apart from 'kerb rash'.
Anyone intersted??

Lovely - but the phase 2 needs a tailgate spoiler - finishes the line beautifully

Agreed, the P2 V70 looks naked without one. Also having 4 break lights is quite awesome!

Looking forward to the summer when I refurb my Comets & get them on the car!

What tyres did you put on them? 225s?

Genuine spoiler is next on my shopping list...anyone know of one going cheap?
The Comets are 7j and I just swapped my tyres over from the 7.5j Amaltheas. They are 225/45/17's. No fitment issues and within the approved tolerances.
Good way to save money!!

Can't decide whether to get another set of cheapish (but niceish) wheels to use as a winter set with winter tyres, or get a damn good set of mint replacements for my mint amaltheas (nebs or something) and then use the amaltheas as winter wheels...

I am using a set of gash perfos with winter tyres through the worst months.

If it was me, I'd get a set of Nebs, sell your 17's for some cash towards your 18's, and get some 16's for winter tyre use as there's a bigger and cheaper choice of 16" winter tyres.

Finally, don't go near the Co Op on Mansfield Rd - the kerbs are very tall and sharp...
