I think my T5 would look great with a set of R type 17" wheels. Anybody know the best way of getting a set. Not prepared to pay full Volvo dealer price of about a £1k + I think. Don't mind buying a set and getting them refurbished, to the colour darker grey or even black. All advice fully appreciated.
Not sure the name of the R Type wheels.

the V70R had Pegasus wheels, they were 18's with a no cost option for 17's

you can get some very good fakes on ebay

new ones are quite cheap & should be alright mate, you can even get them in 19's which Volvo never made

Just had a quick look and came up with the following
18" PEGASUS ALLOY WHEELS VOLVO V70 + 225/40/18 TYRES
Cost £629.00 inc set of tyres. Can't believe how cheap they are. The company is
DP Motor sports, anybody know them. Will I have any problems putting 18" wheels on my T5 2005 P2.

The 17's were called Satelites which were different from the Pegasus in 3 ways...

1. 17" instead of 18"
2. The end of the spokes as it reaches the rim flourishes in a V which is quite distinctive.
3. The centre of the wheel is more angular than on the 18" version, the gaps in the spokes are straighter.

If you search ebay for pegasus alloy wheels you will see many replica sets for around the £500 mark (most with rubber too) but all in 18" sizes (and 19" too).

18" wheels give a rough ride IMHO, so it's a choice issue really.

Are you on 17 or 16 inch wheels at the moment?

Not heard of DP motorsports but I bought a set of replica Pegs off a company in Bolton a few years back, they where good quality so you'll have nothing to worry about.

Satelites are satelites, they're not Pegs, you can get 17" peg's but they're quite rare.

I had some DP motorsport replica 18" Pegs and they were fine, but they did come with a cheap Chinese tyre called sunny.

No problem at all with the wheels, they are actually lighter than the original ones.

My existing wheels are identical to the wheels on her indoors new Mazda2. Funny old world or is that the Ford influence as the body pan of the Mazda2 is the same as the new Fiesta. I wished Volvo and Mazda had used Ford's heated front screen as they used on the Jaguar S type.

DP are also flogging 17" reps of Nebula alloys!

They do 18"'s too, but at £619 a set... I may stick to refurbing my comets!

I had Sunny tyres on my peg reps that came on my car... they were ok tyres but nothing to go looking to buy again.
