I just travelled from Coventry to my new house near Skegvegas, and managed the 126 mile trip at an average of 39.6mpg and 45.6mph. Top speed on the journey was 65mph. She went through 205,000 miles as well.

Can't argue with economy like that from an almost 14 year old car that's been around the world 8 times!

That's not bad at all. I assume you zeroed your trip before the journey?

When I picked my T5 up (210k, auto) it was showing just above 30mpg for average. I zeroed it and haven't seen anything as high as 30mpg since :(

It mostly gets short trips now, and the avergae is down to around 25mpg. I travelled 200 miles in it at the weekdn and the average figure was creeping up, probably should have zeroed it again to see how it does on a run!

yeah zeroed everything in the layby before the m69 as you leave cov on the a46, drove like I had the pope's mum in the car, didn't use the turbo once the whole way (needle stayed on the vac side of the gauge) and didn't break 65mph, with a feather weight foot on the throttle and coasting up to roundabouts from 3/4 of a mile away... every trick in the book... even inflated tyres to 37psi before I left.... I was praying it would stay over 40mpg but the final 10 miles is B roads and villages that stole 0.7mpg at the end, but over 39 on a 120 + mile journey was well pleasing to see when I got home....
