Is it an auto mate? if so slide the shifter up and down a few times then try, do your reverse lights come on when you select reverse

if it was an auto mate, the engine would not even turn over it just does nothing. No help here I know, but it does help others if they have an auto which fails to start. If it turns over, it is NOT the auto selector.

Check that relay !. The one on the right under the radiator top cowling. The wiring rots as it's bent double as it enters the relays multiplug and when it goes it kills the cam sensor pulse. You still get fuel at the rail and you still get power to the coil but no spark, buggered me right up on holiday that did !

I had this a while back (different car though). Check for spark, check for fuel pressure at the rail. Should be threads on here about both if you search. If you have spark and you have fuel, the car should run...

To check for fuel look at the right side of the fuel rail, you'll find a tyre valve, take the cap off, have a cloth handy and press the valve, if you get a good gush of fuel then that's not your problem.

Thanks all for your help, turns out that the fuel pump is screwed, the little white connector on top has somewhat corroded(it actually looks burnt),so its off to salvo`s tomorrow for a new one .
