I ordered the blue engine trim bits from Simon we weren't to sure if they would fit, they dont the bolt holes to the left are in the wrong place and it is cut different at the top right. Is this the only blue trim you get?

I thought the later P1 R's were the same shape but just blue, its not from the P2's as they dont have the R badge on them due to the intake pipe going straight across were the R badge is.

Ok I've answered my own question here and found out they have an extra bit on the block is this part of the cast or can it simply be added to my car, can engines be drilled easily enough to support this bit if it doesn't use holes that are there?

thats just a newer version of the engine top mount they use instead of the cylinder type 850's/X70's have. Think you can unbolt the mounting bracket from the side of the block & fit the newer one on

This may work out then, if all goes to plan I will just have the extra 2 bolts to deal with all I would do there is cut the heads off and glue them in place or could I drill new holes?

Were does my top mount bolt to? and would I be rite in saying the new covers cover the pipes that I circled?

theold top mount is bolted to the side of the engine as for the fuel lines it does look like the new cover goes over the top of them.
Im sure pedro will have a pic of the top mount bracket

Please If you wouldn't mind. So do you think it will be easy enough? I notice the hose for the coolant bottle is in a different place in the later R dont think it will make any difference though. I have my dads S60 to look at, I might take the bracket off of there and try it on my car when I take it home.

no worries mate, i have managed to find a closer picture of the newer top mount & can already see a problem. Our older bracket bolts into the side of the block, while the newer one bolts down to the top. I understood all the blocks where interchangable so it must have another bracket that the top bolts down to, i'll see what Vadis brings up tomorrow

Just had a quick look on the "v-word" program LOL.

Upper engine mount doesn't look much compared to the earlier 850/x70 models. Looks like the two back bolts go into the head, and the front two go into the side plate which bolts to the side of the head.

Oh well it doesn't fit, the main cover fits good and I wouldn't even need to change the engine mount BUT the cover that goes over the 2 black pipes doesn't even come close to covering them, the later R must of had a different layout for those pipes other than that I think it would of worked :(

Isn't your problem down to the fact that the later Classic R's were 2.4 rather than 2.3.......maybe different head assembly

No mate, as my V70R AWD 2.3 had those Blue covers as well, it's down to those fuel pipes being routed differently on a ME7, as they run down between the inlet manifold from the fuel rail.

Gary.
