i had big plans for removing the recirc valve and making a blanking plate but after about 10 mins this idea was binned.so iv just blanked the pipe of.does this cause any problems?car boosts fine and the dump valve is pretty loud..

the recitc valve relies on the vac pipe to hold it closed under boost, so without it, it wont boost properly

it is doable but you will need a rachet spanner to make it a hell of alot easier

I only did mine last week and managed to do it all from the top. If u remove the top two bolts you can rotate the recirc to get to the bottom bolt. Do the reverse when fitting the blanking plate.
10mm ratchet spanner is a must!!

as said above ^, you will NEED a 10mm wratchet spanner and you can remove it no problem.

i took recirc off and fitted blanking plate about a month ago and i love the sound of it now. strangley i seem to be using more petrol lol

I done it without a ratchet spanner, just a good old fashioned ring end spanner, lay on the floor, hand up behind the drive shaft, 1/4 of a turn at a time and bobs your aunt ;)

If you havent got the patience, where do you live?

Pretty sure someone would help from here.

OK, I made a blanking plate this morning.

Step 1
Take off the vac pipes to the recirc valve and waist gate, also undo the clip for the boost pipe and move it out of the way

Step 2
next slacken the two 10mm bolts using a ratchet spanner.

step 3
next raise the car (following all safety precautions) and from underneath the car, remove this bolt.

Step 4
Once you've got the bottom bolt out, you can remove the two that you slackened earlier
and there you go.
I then looked for something to make the blanking plate out of and came up with this.

a bit of drilling, cutting and grinding latter.

I cut open an old silicone boost pipe connector to make a gasket with, and put it all back together, tested and working fine.

Nice one dude. by the way, you want to change that boost controller for a ball and spring type, that'll just spike, you cant stop them, its just the design..

I have'nt noticed any boost spikes, tbh it's only cracked open 1 click, just spools up a bit quicker
