Wing mirrors s60

I have a problem with outside temp sensor which I posted earlier but need help on how to get the plastic off the wing mirror or do I need to take the mirror out from the plastic and risk breaking it. Hope I have explained it correctly
Any help much appreciated.

I haven't looked at it, but if it was me I'd probably take the glass out (carefully) and then get to the sensor from the inside. It's likely to be waterproofed which might making taking it out from the outside difficult.
