would changing standard 16in to 17in wheels on an auto box cause any issues?

no as long as you use the right profile of tyre and offset and i think they look better personnely

both 850R's & T-5R's had 17's from the factory & both were available as an auto so can't see why there should be any problems, as long as you keep to 7.5-8" width with the proper offset & down size the tyre profile to keep the speedo correct it should be fine

I went from Columbas up to 17" Titans and mine is an Auto and ive had no problems at all :D
