The restoration of the P2 continues...when it's finished, it will hopefully make someone a good motor.
Anyway, the amaltheas are looking shabby so I'm taking them to a place in Widnes for a refurb.

The car is black and I originally thought about gloss black or dark metallic grey but I'm sticking with silver as hopefully the shiney silver will appeal to more people as opposed to narrowing the market.
He's the before pics:

Once they're all done, I'll get the finished articles posted.

how much is the refurb costing? i have the same wheels, and they could also do with sprucing up a tad.

For a basic tidy up and re-paint in 1 colour, they charge £35 per wheel.

The only thing they don't do is re-balance the wheel but my local garage will take care of that for not a lot, especially when the wheels are already off the car.

I've got the same wheels and mine are in the same state. have you seen them done in a different colour as I'm keen for a change.
Has anyone got any photos?

I have seen them in anthracite (sp?) but that was on either a silver or light blue V70 and they looked good. Black on black would be good but I'm selling the T5 hence the decision the play safe.

The cost also (usually) depends on the condition of the wheels, if it's not to bad they can do it there at your house, if its worse and they have corrosion on them, then they usually take them away to do. When i had mine done, because of the corrosion, they had to take them for a week and it cost £287 for all 4. That might sound a lot, but when they came back they were fantastic, people thought they were brand new, and 4 brand new 16"bbs wheels in anthracite for less than £300 don't sound so bad

And they balanced the wheels and fitted new valves, also blacked the tyres.

You could always try these, if you fancied new wheels, of the same type ;)

Thinking of getting mine swapped for newer looking ones :D

I used Pro Clean (the old name) a few years ago when there where in Prescot. They kindly refurbed the wheels i bought off Ebay, even though they where bent to f**k and still charged me and negelected to tell me they where bent! :( I believe the management has now changed though, so you sohlud be ok.

I saw this firm last month and was wondering about them. They supply newly refurbished wheels and you sent back your old ones...unfortunately, they only do like for like. I'd quite like to get rid of my old Amaltheas and exchange them for something else (comets / orestes). They do, however, spray your 'new' wheels to any colour before they send them to you, which I think is quite a good idea. That's why I'm after any photo of a different colour Amalthea to see how they look on a car.
Surely someone's done it on here!

Very Nice Indeed.

Was it a 'full' refurb? If so, how do the wheels look on the inside?

Yep, wheels cleaned up and repainted on the inside too.
The colour is lighter than original but has the metallic finish, I tried to get a good pic but I'm no cameraman!
