I have an Y registered (2001) V70. I have read previous forums about ETM problems, but the various descriptions of the problems don't quite fit mine.

On a long run (half an hour plus) the engine seems to misfire a few times, as if you have taken your foot off the accelerator and replaced it immediately. Although the performance is reduced, I am still able to travel at a reasonable (motorway) speed. I do not have any problems driving around locally, the car performs normally with no warning lights/messages.

Anyone's thoughts or diagnosis would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Is it like the turbo has been removed? If so, try disconnecting the MAF and see how it drives, if better - new MAF time.

Does it misfire, poor idle? Could be the coil pack(s).

*doh, ignore warning light bit just re-read the post*

Could be the Maf, but check to see if it's a vac hose.

I had a split on the main manifold splitter for the brake servo, etc.

That caused a big loss in power & made the acceleration very poor too.

Just a thought...

MAF/ ETM issues can cause similar symptoms - have you had the software update for the ETM? If not, might be worth pursuing for elimination purposes.
