HI,

Just had a puncher repaired and they fitted a clip on wheel balancing weights :(

Is it easy to remove them and replace with stick on ones? If so, do the stick on ones stick in line with the weight removed inside the alloy?

Regards

Chris

Not quite that easy. Because the stick on weights are fitted further inboard of the rim chances are you will need more weight. As a very rough guide add half as much again (eg if you have 30 grams fitted to the rim then add 45 grams of stick on weights inboard of the rim). It may also cause an imbalance on the inner rim weighting. I would suggest that you try it and if you get any shake then have it rebalanced at a garage or take it back to where it was balanced and ask them to re-balance it with stick on weights. I personally hate hammer on rim weights as they damage he finish and can cause corrosion so as a general rule at work if it's got stick on weights when it came in then it has them when it goes out ! !
