NW Meet, 21st Feb

Anyone up for another NW meet?

Thinking of The Malthoouse, Rishworth again in February. Sunday 21st, midday onwards.

Last time we were there they made us very welcome and said they would reserve a parking area just for us with a little notice. Nice place, good food, etc.

Family friendly - not sure tbh, not something I need to worry about LOL. Sorry.
Mrs H has no interest in a bunch of peeps talkin' Volvo and things automotive so I'll be on my own at any rate, which gives me a chance to have a blast without the accompanying earache :smile:

Mucky cars accepted but if it's filthy you're not parking next to me :uglyhamme

Update

I've rung The Malthouses to say we'll be descending on them again. We are welcome once again and if we get there early enough (i.e. midday or just before) we can take over the gravelly area near the top car park.

Can peeps just confirm who's coming on Sunday or who isn't?

Reason is that I have provisionally booked a large table for 12 people for lunch and I'd like to confirm with The Malthouse tomorrow evening. It is a popular place to eat and I'd like to keep on their right side. It would not look good if we've reserved a table for 12 and only half a dozen turn up.

Oh joy, cleaned the car today (first time in a few weeks) and what the forecast say, more snow :grumpy: .

And everyone seems happy to say the gritters are out in force :cussing: .

Why oh why did I bother :wallbash::wallbash:.


Anyway, the snow is only forecast for the early morning so hopefully the drive to Rishworth should be OK and it looks like sunshine for the rest of the day :) .

We've got about 2 inches of snow in Salford at the moment so I could imagine it would be worst in the hills. But looking at the thermometer, it's just above freezing now and it looks like it's thawing already. I'm leaving at 1030ish. I'll chuck a shovel and brush in the boot as well. Hope to see anyone there.

Good to see everyone, old and new faces. A wide and varied range of motors:

One 244
Two 945's
Two V40's
One S40
One P1V70XC
One P1 V70R
One V70 P2 diseasel

Despite the signs on the M62 saying the A672 was shut it proved easily passable. Both myself and Simon (tt82) proved that the top car park was not easily accessible though (even the Discovery bottled out LOL, although the RS4 got up OK, albeit once the snow was melting) and even trying to stay upright on two feet was interesting.

Despite the Malthouses saying they were looking to be very busy when I booked the table it looked like many others didn't try to get there and I think they were glad we all turned up.

Once again, good food, good company.

Drive home was not pleasant at all with all the spray on the M62 and the usual CLOD's and people who don't know when to use fog lights properly (morons).

See you again later in the year, hopefully with some better weather.

Like usual I did take the camera but by the time I got round to using it, several people had left. Sam got better ones and I pinched her piccies, so just a couple of my attempts including one on the A672 on the way back to the M62.
