Hopefully this should be a quick one.

Top mount is gone, so I ordered a new one, however it looks different to the one currently on the car.

Current:

Is this correct?

Secondly, I'm trying it locate the ETM but for the life of me can't see it. Where should I be looking ?

ETM is under the inlet manifold. Have fun! :)

I assume this is the correct place to look?

If it is, I can't see anything at all.

Yes it is. It's right under there... you won't see it from above.

Top mount is the modified unit. Far more reliable and longer lasting.

Bugger. What's the best way to get a look at it? Underneath?

If you remove the cross over pipe, you can at least see the ETM! They arent that easy to get to, as you have discovered. :(

Shame they're the least reliable thing on the cars, really :P

ETM is about the size of a tissue box and has 4 mounting bolts that screw in from underneath. It's unpleasant to get to. Read wot I wrote 4 years ago on them...

I have BTW the uprated top mount too (ME7 C70). As Ali said - These ones don't fracture over time as they work under compression - and the opposite side doesnt get pulled, which is where the split happens.

Can't wait to get it on tbh. Shame I don't have the tools...

I think the mounts are very similar, it's the bushes that are different.

Top mount changed. It was more time consuming than I thought. A lot of very tough bolts to undo. When I finally got the mount off the car, the middle of the bush fell out! Good job I changed it.
