you'll have a Mitsubishi TD-04 15g turbo on it mate. I would say have a look on ebay, mine sold for £12 so you can get a bargain (no play but very very small crack on the wastegate)

as for upgrading it any TD-04 (16t, 18t or 19t) will bolt straight onto the manifold but you may need to get another exhaust downpipe. A few people have had issues with the oil & coolant pipes being different but they are the same if you get the right turbo, believe they changed them when they went to ME7 so you'll be alright if you get a turbo off a pre-ME7 like your own car

i would recommend changing to either a ME7 or better a S60R exhaust manifold when you do change the turbo as another easy upgrade, & always use new Volvo studs & bolts

a Volvo mainstealer charger me £230 to fit my 19t & S60R manifold

i replaced my 15g with an angled 16t due to the wastegate being very badly cracked, very common i hear with the 15g. so i dont see much point buying a second hand one if your planning to have the car for a long time.

angled 16t and downpipe to fit, the is a better flow as well with this set up but you will need to change youe exhaust manifold to a ME7 manifold.

you don't have to change the manifold, TD04's fit onto any of the manifolds. I recommended it as an upgrade to do while your taking the turbo off, but it doesn't have to be done

dont see the point of doing all that work and not changing the manifold.

he did ask about upgrade.

try search the has been alot of this 19t and 18t 16t etc... talk the differences for the money imo(16t) for the money anyway.

no doubt someone on here will scream and shout about a 19t and how much better it is. just remember conrods conrods conrods!!!

conrods will be an issue with any turbo if the boost isn't controlled properly

as you say tho i do recommend the 19t purely from personal experience, it can be a pig of a turbo & quite laggy without the breathing to match

the manifold i think you'll be able to pick up for under £50, its the turbo thats going to cost plus the matching downpipe (if you can get hold of them)

i paid £300 for an S60R manifold, £500 for the 19t, £500 for the Ferrita 3" downpipe & another £100 on studs/nuts & washers

me7 exhaust manifold i paid £50 angled 16t £100 and the down pipe to fit (volvo not pattern) £50 bolts etc... about £20 if i remember rightly again volvo ones

you can spend a fortune so look around before you buy.

A 16t from a me7 will fit fine mate all the same fittings
