cheers pedro is there any where in the uk where you can get the brass bushes
the bushes are the same as Toyota MR2's & some ebay sellers used to do brass ones, haven't looked recently but they weren't many on there previously. I've emailed about the whole short shift kit so perhaps he'll send them over here

i just emailed Kristian at shortshiftkit@gmail.com & asked him how much to be shipped to UK, he got back to me very quickly with the $68 price & told me to send paypal payment to the same email address & they would be sent out monday. Seems a very friendly & helpful chap

Those look about right in size. The overall sizes are (approximate without being at work with my calipers)-

width 14mm (overall)
22mm body (the bit the fits into the gear selector cable ends)
8mm hole
8mm from inside sholder on one lip to groove for c lip recess
And a c clip to suit the cut recess and shoulder

Any machinist should be able to machine them up in about 15-20 minutes.

If anyone has the short throw shift plate I would be greatfull to borrow it before fitment on their car so I could get the dimensions from it so I could make one.

perhaps we can come to some sort of deal here mate, he says it'll take about a week to get here but they won't be fitted to BT straight away anyway (i'm also thinking of modifying the plate)

But i'm after some custom machining & think you might be able to help :shifty: (any chance you can PM me your phone number)

Hi

Ive got this kit on my 855 , it came from the states real quick and was easy to fit . Just dont over tighten the bolt that goes through the bush and the plate or the gear change wil become impossibly stiff .

Once I got over that I was well impressed with the kit , the gear stick has no play and feels very precise. Ive set mine for the short throw but there is an even shorter setting but I find this setting ok for me.

what do you's think, he's kindly said he'd include me in the group & return me the extra payment so just need 4 others to join in

Thanks for putting the offer up mate :D

If it doesn't get the required numbers, I'm also willing to go separate, I think its a good offer with the bushes, seeing as mine have the same amount of slack as a 15yr old pair of M&S Y-fronts

whats the total we owe pedro

t5 pete
Sunday 10th January 2010, 00:38
$59 = £37 and lets say £3 postage
will a payment of £40 be right

p fandango
Sunday 10th January 2010, 00:48
$59 = £37 and lets say £3 postage

my payment cost £43.54 so with the group discount i think £40 will be about right, the paypal exchange rate is 1 British Pound = 1.56178 US Dollars.

JamesT5R it looks like £42 is too much from you then mate

i think £37 & £3p&p as suggested by t5 pete sounds realistic, i'll send peoples change with the kit if it is overpriced

Sunday 10th January 2010, 00:59

Just let me know what's a fair price so your not out of pocket mate and if postage is only a couple of quid its alot less than my petrol to collect so my price with postage please mate(have to wait till avon to see bt again)

p fandango
Sunday 10th January 2010, 01:06
so what we doing pedro paying now or waiting untill we have the numbers
i think we should wait till we get the final numbers now that he's kindly doing even more discount for 10+ so we can sort out an accurate price instead of messing around sending money back to those who paid early. Is everyone happy to give this group buy a week, so next weekend we can sort out & get back to Kristian with final numbers on how many we want or do we want longer/shorter?

t5 pete
Sunday 10th January 2010, 01:07

i'm getting confused now lol

will do mate, with the new deal i think we should let it run for a bit so we get all the names of those interested & get the best price we can. Postage for a 0.5kg letter was only £2 recorded so think it will be cheaper to get Postman Pat to deliver it tbh mate

sounds a good idea to me, once Kristian gets back to me with a final price per kit including P&P for the new deal i'll start a new thread with proper info on 5+ & 10+ so people can see whats going on & what there expecting to pay depending how many names are on the list

Can you put me down for one. I like the idea - and if the bushings are different for my later C70 my father can make them up.

Alan M
Sunday 10th January 2010, 13:02
The bushes are a different size in phase 2 cars.

Wobbly Dave
Sunday 10th January 2010, 13:43
Indeed - so I may or may not be lucky. Still have a M56 gearbox - and the C70 ME7 is not totally phase 2

Alan M
Sunday 10th January 2010, 13:59
Your father should be able to machine the required bushes should you need a different size. Its easy to just pop one out of the cable end to measure whats required, it takes around ten minutes measureing including removing and fitting all the parts back to where they were.
