Morning all

Have just found this site and registered as new member so please be gentle with me LOL

Seen similar probs but suppose cant be helped with this weather, car was showing -14 when I got in this morn.
Over last few weeks car has been taking longer and longer to fire up and yesterday nothing, turning over fine but just not catching until battery eventually ran down, garage came out started car with Easy Start and took away, they changed all 5 glow plugs (3 were dead) and had it running fine, took home and again all fine until this morning and same thing has happened.

Car is V70 D5 SE 2002 model has 201000 on the clock and to be honest has never had a problem until this, any suggestions

Cheers

Glow plug relay or fusible link???

However, on the common railers, the ecu needs to see 200bar in the rail before it even thinks about opening the injectors.

So if you have a weak battery, or lazy starter (slow cranking speed), or excess leak off from one or more injectors, it will never start.

Have them check all of these.

Couldnt tell you sorry, but you might be able to trace it back from the plugs on the engine.

If you have a DVM, check if you have 12v at the plugs with ignition on. Bear in mind, modern diesels only call for plugs below about 0 C so no good trying it with the engine warm!
