Hi all, so i picked up a total bargain! A mint 2000 C70 T5 with 69000 on the clock. The only problem is it has this intermitent fan/air con fault the lights on the unit flash orange and the green stay lit, there is a clicking sound when you switch either on! Just wondering if any one had known of this fault and if there are any quick fixs so to speak!

Cheers chaps.

refridgerant low maybe.
if its low or the pressure is gone then it wont work...
maybe you have a leak...best thing wld b to get ac checked by a local specialist...

i thought that bud, but its working today but probably wont be tomorrow! When its working the air con is ice cold and the fans powerfull, but when not it just clicks and flashs?

if its working well then thats a good sign,
im assuming the pulley on the ac pump is ok,not loose or rattly,
i think there is a pressure sensor in the circuit,if thats mucking about may confuse it,

iirc the coolant temp sensor has some control over the ac aswell,
the pressure sensor is behind osf bumper, attached to the ac pipe behind there,& theres a relay in the fusebox i think,

i would suggest getting your fault codes read, as the flashing orange lights indicate theres a code in there waiting to be pulled out, to take out the guesswork

Its crazy, it hasnt done it in a week! Ever since the major drop in temp its working great, i will get the codes read never the less as if it goes tits up in this weather it could cause major probs.

cheers for the input chaps

One of the control servo's or limit switches is faulty and/or one of the servo's isnt moving to where the ecu tells it to go. Usual culprit is the blend door motor which is powered up at every start up.

Quickest thing would be a trip to your friendly dealer and pop it on the diagnositic machine.

The AC will be inhibited below 5 deg c anyhow!
