Chaps and chapasses,

Is it worth fitting a BOV to an auto car, as i thought the whole idea of the BOV is to "dump" the boost pressure when the engine is on vaccumn, to alleviate turbo lag? But with an auto its an almost seamless gearchange.....
So the need to relieve this pressure isnt there??????

Your right in your thinking mate, it will only dump when you take your foot off the gas, so no real advantage, but down to personnel preferece

Nowt to do with being an auto, you already have a form of dump valve. The difference is that it 'dumps' back into the inlet tract after the MAF so it's called a recirc valve and is fitted to the side of the turbo but effectively does the same job without dumping already metered air to atmos and making a noise like a sneezing camel !
