Well, i posted a thread a while back regarding the loss of my dashboard lights/illuminiation. It started off just flickering sometimes, and then would go out for a while and then come back on :(
People mentioned the ignition switch as a possible cause of the fault, and thats what i thought it could be, but today i did some investigation to find i couldnt make them come on even by powering up the wiring with a direct (fused) feed :(
So as a temp measure (as its comin up to mot time) i removed the dimmer unit, and put a fused link (10A) from the 2brown wires (Ign feed) to the 2 pink wires (output to illumination) and hey presto i got dash lights when the ign is on!
I will have to do some further work to find out exactly why they not working when the wiring is put back to standard, but as a temp measure its all good!
