Looking to get my diesel mapped, or can i buy one of these from ebay to do the same?

Haven't used one on an 850 exactly but did fit one to one of my mates golf tdi a few years ago. They do work (ie it crisped up acceleration etc) and the one I fitted was tunable (basically it had a screw in it that you adjusted until you started to get black smoke then you backed it off a little). Have also fitted an MBC valve to an 'old' diesel and it responded quite well !

On the motor I fitted the MBC to I did tweak the pump (the vehicle in question was........wait for it.....a Vauxhall Bravo pick up truck !) but vehicles with some sort of ecu control can't be increased as easily (hence those piggy back boxes). The plus side with old diesels is that afaik you don't have to worry about running lean with more boost doing any damage. If there ain't enough fuel you don't go any faster !
