Trawling Ebay, only to find a rather overpriced, and shall we say, overdescribed engine?

Must have come from the only 850 ever to have a rotted out floorpan! If the car was that bad, what does it say about the quality of the (potentially 400bhp :flying:) engine? Talk about polishing shi'ite.

I just asked the seller this question, just because I'm feeling particularly cheeky tonight!

Hi, I just wondered what mods can you do to get 400bhp without replacing the rods and pistons and rebuilding the engine completely? Thanks for any info!

Here's the answer I received from the seller:

Hi, can't say exactly what is done, I actually never got
round to doing what I wanted to with my car. From
talking to guys who specialise in tuning volvos, all that is
required to get 375+bhp is a remap plus correct
induction and exhaust set up. Was quoted around £800
about 3yrs back.

So you see fellas, 375bhp (plus) is so easily achievable
