Just returned to T5 ownership and picked up a V70T5 Auto 2001.

Has/had an osf noise like knackered drop link so had it checked out yesterday whilst cambelt was done. Its an MOT station so they checked suspension on their fancy mot ramp which automatically jogs the suspension whilst loaded, and then the old fashion way, jacked up. 1 ARB link worn so replaced that, didnt get rid of it.

BUT, did notice top engine mount knackered, not sure if this may be transfering noise? All wheels balanced to zero but alloys not completely true.

Any idea's?

TIA

Had a noise and vibration on mine the other week, turned out to be a seized caliper - have you had a search on forum?

engine mount by crankcase pulley will make lots of vibration through steering especially at Idle if its knackered (often failed or failing and exacerbated by replacinging top mount with something harder)

also tie bar can be another culprit. people always assume suspension, but can be engine, it can be a multitude or combination of things

play in lower wishbone bush, not detectable on there ramp but can be heard when driving, it is possible
