ecu number

does anyone know the correct ecu thats in my car 1997 T5 its got at the moment 0261 204 449 J3.2, reason im asking the ecu has a sticker on it saying Brightwell Garage they looking at there web site do engine tuning of a sort, just wondering if they have messed with the ecu.

Have you tried contacting the garage?, if they've worked on the car then they should have a record of what was done to it.

ok so just phoned them, It went in for a full service and emissions where sky high, he referred the lady who owned it to a Volvo main deal because of the ecu, he couldent do anything with it because of the immobiliser which is built into the ecu? this was all done 2yrs ago/ over 20000 miles ago, strange

sounds like it will have the standard ecu fitted, just wondering how they determined the ecu was at fault for the high emission levels ?????

dont know hes says he does electronic tuning but it just seems strange his sticker is all over it, yet hes doing nothing to it. What code reader will i need for my car is it the OBDII i might just buy one then ive always got it. looking at this one
