As far as I know the ST uses a low pressure turbo so it wouldn't be much use for our cars.

I know what you mean, the 18T's are hard to come by secondhand, I think you can buy them new but they're damned expensive.

when i first fitted my 19t yes it was very laggy, but now with the enlarged RIP & throttle body it spools just as fast as my 15g did
some conrods for you LINK (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Conrod-Volvo-850-T5-C70-V70-2-3-Pleuel-Bielle_W0QQitemZ400014603341QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item5d22ba744d )
the Crocus turbo is moulded into the manifold

The 19t uses the same turbine inpellar/shaft as the rest of the volvo series (15g,16t,18t,19t) so they are not really a laggy turbo. You can buy a new KKK24 from Rufe for about £560 IIRC.

compared to a 15g they are, i was very disappointed when i first swopped over to my 19t
i also fitted a 3" downpipe & S60R manifold at the same time as the 19t, & the excess lag over the old 15g was still very noticable
