I may need a new turbo for my 850 T5, does anyone know if a TD04 (TYPE TD04 HL 16T)from a newer T5 will work. as seen one on ebay at the moment.

a 16t will fit but you'll need a new downpipe to match

i'd also recommend upgrading the exhaust manifold to either a ME7 or S60R manifold while your changing the turbo

I've got a 15G and a straight outlet 16T spare. Both will fit your car. 2 types of 16T 1 with straight outlet, 1 with an angled outlet. The spare i have is straight outlet & will fit a standard 850 downpipe. I agree with Pedro on upgrading to an ME7 or S60R exhaust manifold. The I have 16T has been ported & polished & holds the high boost better. If your interested to do a deal let me know ASAP as a mate is humming & harring over it.

Hi Niles,
I'm quite interested in that polished 16T. Mine is the standard 15G and exhaust.

Does nyone know if the 16T could be fitted without adversely affecting the 304 RICA it is currently running.

Regrads to all

The people that fitted the RICA are the only ones who can tell you that with any certainty...

The rest of us can speculate :)

I actually bought the ECU from Pookie on her some time ago, who was running it in his 855R.

It was a straight slot in and runs fine.

Am I right in thinking the R runs the 16T?

Thanks mate
no worries

as for using a different turbo on map designed for a different one, i know a stock ECU has quite a bit of adaption within it. I'm running a 19t on a stock T-5 map for the 15g with no issues. I'm assume a RICA map will still have the adaption feature written in

The car i bought had a 15g when mapped now has a 16t runs ok,just doesnt seem to hold boost and boost to where it should be,might not be the turbo but you never know.

Pm me. And my last car has/had a rica304 & I fitted the 16T, it holds boost better & pulls harder but its much smoother delivery as the 15g has an aggressive 'push'.
