Looks like my weekend jobs list is growing ,doing some researching on net, this Boost Control Solenoid, (Turbo control valve),it has a few names, comes up as a possible for my inconsistent Boost and Lurching problems, this is next to airbox with 3 pipes and electrical connection, appears it can get gummed after a while. My car has 190k on so very possible,it appears to be a simple piston device which regulates flow of air to wastegate,
1) Is it easy enough to try and clean with Carb cleaner or similar?,
2) Any other cars with same part, scrappy near me has no Volvo Turbos,
3) Seem to recall a part from a Saab can be used, any ideas what model ?
Buying a new part is a last resort as due to shorter work hours i,m on a limited and i mean Limited budget!!, as ever any help gratefully received.
