The fuel pump packed up!!!
Now I picked up my 850 t5 estate last June, 190,000 miles on clock with MOT's. Spec including black heated leather (and both the heated seats work), leccy windows/ mirrors (only o/s heats up) sunroof, climate control (issue with a switch mounted next to gear selector to get aircon to work?) auto box thats nice a smooth.
Did oil and filter change on it as service light was on when I got it and put 4 new tyres on. Scary thing is thats all I did to it in a year (other than fit Volvo boot spoiler and tint rear windows to shade the kids) and when MOT time came up in July just gone it failed, funny thing was only on no pattern from n/s headlight and steering column not locking in place. This car is fantastic, been to Weymouth and back as well as Belgium but ££££ me if it broke down in Derby on Saturday night. RAC diagnosed fuel pump so kindly worked out how to get recovered home Monday :) as I'd already paid for alton towers tickets.
Euro bloody car parts eventually got a fuel pump to me this morning (note that the PWM they advertise will NOT fit a T5), shiney Bosch one which did the trick, but now I have light on dash stating engine electrical problem. Now as mine is a 1995 I have the plug under the bonnet to DIY test and reset. I've done the test but it wont let me clear the memory to get the light off the dash, anybody got any ideas?
And also, plus very random, it seems to boost a whole lot more today than it did last week, is that normal?

Does anybody know if I can get hold of lower arms without bushes as I have got a poly bush kit to fit, but may as well use new arms as gives fresh lower ball joints as well then.

Final thing for the minute, can anybody recommend a specialist near to me, Gatwick area, who can do a cam belt change for me? Volvo dealer want £300all in (including courtesy car for the day), whereas local mech wanted £450 plus cost of the parts.

£300 all in plus the car isn't too bad, Seems a bit drastic for just a belt change though. Unless you really need it of course.
£450 is just taking the piss. I can get it done at a local for £200 all in, And £50 for just the belt fitted.
You could drive to Devon, Have my mate do it and drive back for less than that garage want :uglyhamme

Well I did let him know he was wanting more than main dealer prices, mileage wise its still good for about 10,000 but the belt was last changed many years ago. Plus side of main dealer is the fitted part warranty, so if they get it wrong they owe me big time.
I know its old and looking bit tired, but value for money it's best allround car I've owned (including 2 brand new cars).

Yeah, Can't fault mine really (touch wood)
Even with the high mileage it's been a star. Volvo quote 100k lifespan I think for a belt, Mate reckons on 80k to be safe.

Most people ive spoken to say 80k for a belt change.

Pretty sure it is 80,000miles or 5 years which ever one arrives first

I changed my cambelt recently, 60k after the last one, and the tensioner pulley was seized solid, so it's a good job I did....

Yeah sorry about that :(
spotted that mistake after I registered and cant find the option to change user name, lol.

Think it's about 60,000 since last change but quite a few years, although I don't fancy putting it in for the belt and have dealer ring me saying I need hydrolic tensioner as well cos thats not included in the £300 quote :(.

But the big question at moment is why wont it let me reset the faults to get rid of the light on the dash????

It will unless you still have a fault.

pants, sure its on due to RAC man taking plugs out when he was checking why it's given up. Did find a plug on bottom of air box that wasn't in so have plugged that back in and light still on.
Strange though as it's running fine.
