Hi all,
I recently had a change of job, and needed a car to take the weekly 600 mile roundtrip from sussex to blackpool.
I have a BMW 118d and Mini Cooper S Works, and didn't fancy using either of them, so whilst I was 2000 miles away in egypt, I bought a 1997 Volvo V70 CD off ebay.
It's my first time owning a volvo and so far it seems a good decision.
It's just had a service at jumpleads in Lytham St Annes as well as all wheels balanced and tracking done. It now drives really well.
Of course it needs work, so this will be my progress thread for the work I do.
After a damn good interior clean I used the car last week for it's first trip, and all went well. Just am comfortable as I was hoping.
Today I start the first job, to sort out the nasty bumper.
I pulled off the previous owners silver sticker to have a peak below.
This is how it was starting earlier

Very scratched and the tailpipe looking rather sad for itself.
First job was to thoroughly clean the bumper reading for a detailing sand and polish using my Meguiars G220 polisher

After a good few coats of Meguiars #80 speed glaze..

It at least looks more respectable with no cost outlay. Next stage will be to get it re-sprayed
Then onto the tailpipe tip..

After various cleaners, scrubbers and lastly some polish..

Next job is to fit these..
