I'm just right now trying to fit new springs to my v70 p1. I have the front shock and spring out but I can't get the spring off the shock due to a cross like brass Locky thingy? Can anyone tell me how to get the spring off. Don't worry btw I have the spring compressors on already

Thanks again chaps for before, I have just finished now I swear this car hates me. Every nut or bolt decided to either round off or just be stuck!! Nuts jumped from by the wipers into the engine bay of there own accord! To top it all off it lashed down from start to finish and I couldn't use my garage because I have a couple of motorbikes in there that are half way through a rebuild! I swear someone up above hates me!

Exactly my viewpoint now Phil, I have done about 4 cars, 3 were mine from past, 1 was mates - but decided to pay someone to fit them to my C70 as last time, on my mates, the spring clamps slipped under the tention, when we had the spring off and it uncompressed on my leg - now that hurt, still cant work out how it never did more damage.

Anyway, £100 more, someone elses problem :)

Glad you sorted it out anyway mate :)
