just been on a USA volvo forum (sorry) why do the states give recalls on etm /ets faults for cars up to 10 yrs old or 200,000 miles? if this is a known volvo fault but not the UK.

Any Sensible ideas ?

Because if anything goes wrong there Volvos ass will be in a sling with all the law suits.

While i cant answer specifically, I can add that each market has been treated differently. Volvo uk is a different company to volvo USA, and we are both different to other markets again. I sold a ETM to someone in Denmark recently who told me they still retail at over £800 there, while I can send them there for about £200 delivered, as we have completely different prices. In the UK we had a free clean and upgrade offered for some time, which other markets have not had.
