Hi guys, been reading a few posts about RICA and seen some charts from RollingRoads on T5's that have RICA. Now I am slightly confused. Most seem to be around 265 -280bhp after Rica? I thought with RICA the car would be 304bhp as stated on the VT website.

Those figures are normally quoted at the wheels which is around 265 at the wheels which is around 310bhp at the fly which is the way RICA quote it, 280bhp at the wheels is the same as 340bhp or a 19T conversion.

So when they say a T5 is 225bhp, is that at the wheels or fly? If a subaru Impreza WRX is 280bhp is that wheel or fly? When you watch Top Gear or read a motoring mag, and they say the car is 400bhp? ............Wheel or Fly?

A T5 at 225 is at the fly, same as with a subaru at 280 at the fly and again in motoring press such as Top Gear at the fly, thats the most common way of quoting the bhp as its higher but car enthusiasts quote at the wheels or whp as its a more accurate measurement as takes into account transmission losses where bhp or fly hp doesnt.

Almost always flywheel Bison - manufacturers quote this.

In the real world horse power at the wheels and weight is what matters.

When you're reading about VT dyno, this particular dyno gives power at the wheels.

When someone quotes their power, ask them - else assume this is power at the fly.

Hope this helps
