Hi All

The dreaded engine management light has come on amongst a lot of stuttering and cutting out.

Does anyone know a garage with the OBDII reader in Central Scotland to save me going to Arnie's in Stirling and getting ripped off.

Cheers

That would be great but I have never used one before. Can you let me know when you'll be in tomorrow.

Thanks very much.

Took the car to Paul and it came up code P0101, which is MAF or VAF A Circuit Range/Performance.

He also suggested that since it has an itg filter it could have put some oil into the MAF and I should get some electric circuit cleaner and try a cleaning operation before buying a new MAF.

Many thanks to Paul for his invaluable help.

Interesting diagnosis, as I also have the ITG filter and I've been getting rough running recently. Makes sense that the sensor could well be fouled by the oil/fluid on the filter!

I also plan to clean the PCV system at the weekend (possibly replace it, but I'm on a tight budget at the moment), which seems to be the second most obvious thing to check on a car with 168k miles.

Next down the line is the ETM, which I have a new unit to swap it with.
