Just as i decided to put my T5 up for sale the car has taken revenge!!! On the way home this morning the Engine Management Light came and now the car is idling at 12-1300 rpm instead of its normal 1000 rpm. Rang my local mian stealer but they can't look at it till next week. Anyone got any ideas what the problem could be??

Hello buddy........high idle speed is a very common problem with T5s. Most commonly down to a vacuum leak. Had the same problem with mine more than once although it didn't put the lambda light on. The most likely one is at the timing side of the inlet manifold and it's a little bugger to get at. Do a search on here mate,it's a well documented problem. I posted a how to "The usual suspect" some months ago which will help if it proves to be that one. All others a easily accessible so that one is always left till last.
Lift the bonnet with the engine running and simply listen for a hissing sound moving left to right,it'll soon become apparent..HTH..

Could be the MAF sensor.
It might need cleaning or its buggered.
Air idle control valve and throttle body might need cleaning.
