Underneath my spoiler I have a join, from the spoiler to the bottom of the boot it's made out of plastic. The very bottom arrow is where it is metal again. Is this part of the boot design? Or part of the spoiler? I haven't seen this join on S60's without a spoiler.

Lord only knows why but it is standard. They make it that way with or without the spoiler.

That's why you aren't supposed to use a boot mounted bike rack, cos it's only held on with trim clips.

What so the join is very visable when you haven't a spoiler?!

The whole of the tailgate on the V70P2 is plastic. (except the window...)

Less deadly than you may think...

I'm never worried about dings in the boot! (just big old cracks!)

Also means that fitting a spoiler to the car doesn't involve 20lt of filler/sealant to protect the body!

Kind of smart in a way, but sort of stupid in lots of others.

I'd doubt that a plastic boot will withstand any mass force from inside. The weakest spots would be at the base of the window. I have had visions of the tailgate popping in two & stuff littering the road! Hum!

They're not perfect, but I do like them!
