Strut top mounts

Ive got an awful sound on full lock that sounds like rubber rubbing from the top strut area if you get me ;)

I went to a local independant and he lifted the bonnet and said that the mount looked distorted, does this cause that noise, he said it could be :(

Will i have to replace the 2 parts of the mounts or just the top metal ones, the Rubber ones are £50 odd quid the pair off Rufe the metal ones that come up through that the strut brace bolts to are £180 odd quid a pair :grumpy:

Ive just replaced the wishbones and it handles better but now because they are tight it clunks and groans in the other areas instead, i.e. the top mounts ( whichever one :confused: )

If you do replace the whole lot, then you only need genuine Volvo lowers (the rubber bit), the ScanTech metal uppers are fine.

yes i would say the same, go for the non genuine upper support plates if you have no other choice, but i certainly would not go for any thing other than genuine when it comes to the lower parts.
