Hello,
I've got a 1996 855 t5 auto with a Rica 304 remap.
I've got a little problem which I need some help with.
Today my engine management light came on, but all seemed well until later in the day when it started loosing all power from pulling off from stand still, but then it will pick up once I put my right foot down.
Then its fine for a few miles but then it plays up again, also it will splutter on full boost then clear again.

Now to the bigger problem, I've got access to a snap-on scanner which will not connect & also the bosch kts 570 laptop/scanner which also couldn't connect (could this be down to the remap?).

Now I'm unsure what to do?

All advice appreciated!

Hiya. Have you tried to read the codes from the diagnostic plug/button?

sadly no, just the snap-on scanner & bosch laptop. but like i said they will not connect for some reason.

Have a look at this site, they mention the same prob as youve got, summat to do with the "L" can line, and pin number 15!

You will encounter problems getting aftermarket scanners to work on the 850, it's not fully OBDII compliant so most of the aftermarket stuff won't work. If all else fails take it to a dealer, they'll check them for you....for a fee of course but it's better than nothing.

As for the fault.....check the usual like split vac pipes/intercooler hoses etc before spending any money. Mine split the hose that comes off the throttle body a while back, it went where the smaller hose is T'd off, must be worth a look.

Tomcat you were spot on, as soon as the sun came up I was out under the bonnet checking the pipes and as you said the hose that comes off the throttle body has a nice split in the crease were it T's off.
A big THANKS to you!

Now to order a set of samco hoses! lol
