I know someone about to scrap an old 2 litre 850 estate and am wondering what parts I can take from it for my T-5 estate. I've got dips on the cover for the rear and possibly the wheel bolts if they'll fit (he has steel wheels). Anything thing else I should take?

What years are both cars ?

If they're both the same generation, then you could consider -

remote key/alarm fobs;
interior switches - sunroof, heated seats etc (easier to swap a switch than fix those darn bulbs);
headlining;
mudflaps;
headlamps & wipers?;
footwell mats;
rear lamps if they're decent;
towbar;
etc etc

Depends upon what you want and how much is being asked for the parts :)

Dont scrap it, break it and sell the bits, he'll make a load more money than scrapping it ;)

It's a 95, same as my wagon.

As regards breaking it. I'm not sure the market exists in Ireland for doing such a thing and the postage to the UK may prove prohibitive

The suspension and brakes are all the same, all the switch gear will all be the same, whats the interior like, is it better than yours, maybe a swap over, keep the wheels as spares...........

Plenty you could do with it its all time and storage though :D
