Just bought this

Went to Manchester today to buy this 850 AWD.

Its got 87,000 miles on the clock and was only £1100. Full service history with it, Volvo premium sound system, interior in great condition, it needs a little TLC, but nothing that wouldn't normally be done anyway.

Its actually for my dad, as he wanted one. His old car was a '94 940 estate.

That is not bad at all. Keep having phases of wanting an AWD - usually in the middle of winter or on a muddy campsite - but apprehensive of the transfer box failing: I know they have a tendency to disllike even slight variations in wear between tyres.
But for £1100 and FSH with that mileage I reckon you will most likely be laughing!

Well, I've got an AWD, and now my dad has, so twice the potential of something going wrong LOL.

I'd sort out any problems anyway, I like to take things apart (don't always fix them though)

Ah yes, I invariably find I could build a second vehicle from the parts I have left over in these situations
