hi guys, i've re-bushed the front wishbones with poly bushes, but have found that on trying to fit the wishbones back, i cant get enough clearance to hook the arm in to the bottom ball joint, i've had spring clamps, jacks to try and get the clearance, but it seems impossible, is there a knack of re-fitting them? any ideas most welcome.

cheers, neil

Just on the off-chance . . .

There's no way that you're trying to fit them upside down, is there?

Don't laugh, someone on here recently PAID a 'professional mechanic' to fit new wishbones to his car then complained of dreadful handling.

see here - http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?t=23140

When inspected by someone who knew his job this clown was found to have fitted them upside down and the brake discs were sawing thru' the new wishbones! :o

So just to check -

These are the right way up. Note the machined end of the wishbone which accepts the ball joint, 'K?

Hope this helps, luv'n'stuff

Ooopssss!

££££e happens, mate. When I'm rebushing/refurbing the wishbones I have to keep a pair at the side of the bench so I can remember what they're supposed to look like!

You're not the first and you won't be the last...
