Does it go in to positive when accelerating? Cos when you are cruising around at low speeds the gauge should hardly move at all.
Haven't got a gauge in the T4

You need to be boosting for it to go up the way over hg,
I have just fitted mine so will report back on Sunday.

You’ll only ‘blow’ upon demand so you’ll see manifold pressure as normally aspirated 'suck' when cruising.. *Innuendo invite* .. one advantage of turbo over supercharger.
Quite interesting to see how and when the turbo spools actually and quite a useful guide for fuel economy too :-)
