Will C70 calipers and discs fit?
What about drive shafts?

Went to the breakers yesterday and they have a T5 C70.
Brakes looked bigger than mine and as I'm getting it chipped soon, I thought it might be a good idea to up the brakes cheap.

Also gonna need an offside drive shaft for MOT.

Thanks in advance.

aslong as its not the newer generation C70 then yes i think all the parts should fit, you'll only need the caliper mount, longer hoses & discs the calipers are the same as the one you've already got fitted.

As for driveshaft i think there'll be the same as long as its off the same sort of gearbox ie auto into auto, manual into manual

As said by mr Fandango it will prob. fit since the C70(first model)is just an 850 with another body.

Not sure what model it is, fronts a bit mashed.
Any easy way of telling?

Driveshaft won't be any good then as it's a manual.
Brakes looked to be around 280-300mm but I didn't have a tape on me, so not 100$.

Being just the brackets I need will keep the cost down, I'll just order some new hoses then.

Aah right, No worries.
I thought it'd be subtle differences between the 2, but it's that shape.
I'll dig me spanners out then

Looking through an online brake parts company, It says both the hoses from the 850 and C70 are 39cm long

Be nice if mine fit, It'll save me bleeding the calipers.

You should be fine if it's the front hoses you need, the rear is a different matter as the C70 has 5 hoses, the additional one being part of the rear brake setup.

Contrary to popular opinion there are actually 3 disc sizes for the C70 (and I guess therefore the S&V as well), the third one is a very rare 320mm factory option.

you really need to measure the size of the C70 discs on the donor car. 850's came with 280mm (except ex-Police which had 302's), but C70's came with 280's or 302's but there was no pattern to which had what. So the website you checked for the hoses should list 2 different ones for the C70, one of them will be the same as the 850 because they were the same. Some people have siad they've upgraded to 302's from 289's & not had to change to the longer hoses, but personally the hoses were lenghtened for a reason & wouldn't mess when it comes to the brakes

Yeah I see what your saying about the hoses.
They must be the 302mm discs at the breakers, as they are defo bigger than mine.
My cars an Ex Plod but has the standard 280mm discs.

Right, Been stuck at work all week on 12 hours so couldn't get out to check.
Went out today and they are 302mm, They want £20 per side which sounds steep to me, Considering I've got to take them off. Does it sound alright?

i paid £50 (£25 per side) for mine from Salvo & £9 postage. Think Rufe sells them new for about £20 per side now, & it'll save you the bother of having to take them off (altho you will have postage & to send him your old ones)

I don't mind taking them off really, It's off the ground and the bolts don't look too rusted. It's only 5 mins out my way to work too.
Price is about right then. I may be able to swing £30 for the pair, If I plead poverty ;)

Wouldn't budge on price, So I left them.
I stopped by Kastners on the way home and they quoted me £19.80+VAT each side new, So I'll go with that.

I'll just check the part numbers while I'm here though....

8251156

EDIT: Just googled the number, Seems it's for 280mm brackets. Anyone got the PN for the 302's?

The 320mm was really a very late addition to the classic 70 range & early P2.

This was often used by plod to couteract the increasing load that they carried in some of the V70's/S70's and early S60's/V70 P2's.

Not a common find (if ever) in a C70. Plod did not stock them & I've yet to see a C70 in white.....

TBH the 320 BB kit is a bit overpriced & very demanding on the standard components. 302/305 standard is well big enough!

Ha, Bargain.
I waved the quote from Volvo under his nose and got the pair for £20.
Priced up some 302mm discs at £30+ VAT each (Unless anyone can supply cheaper)
Was looking at the cheapy vented/cross drilled discs on eBay....Any good?

can't moan at the price. Personally i wouldn't touch drilled & grooved again, had them before & the surface ended up covered in hair-line cracks. I got vent solid discs from GSF for £50

Doesn't sound good, I'll get the straight vented from me local then.
Thanks for all the help people.

:hilarious

The 320mm kit on the C70 and P1 cars is different to the kit on the P2 cars, they are not the same and not interchangeable.

The ONLY cars I've seen them fitted to are C70's, oh, and there are some in white in the UK, one was on fleabay very recently.
