Cheers Mark. I read that it was the later uprated Mitsubishi turbo's that had the angled flanges (98-00). I'd expected mine to be one of them but it is a 97 and its a flat connection so is it still a mitsubishi? (Its def an 18T type cos the last garage I went to confirmed this)

Our turbos are the TD04HL, the turbo part number for a '97 B5234T4 engine is 8601226

8601238 is coming up as a 1998 B5234T3/T6 engine

anyway, the only way to be sure is to check the turbo itself. Its on a plate on the bottom of the turbo just under the intake port, bit of WD40 on a rag to clean the crap off it, and a camera in macro mode and flash will pick it up.

But then according to Swede demons list

http://www.swededemon.com/turbo/turbolist.html

Its 9185628 or 8601456.

So its definately worth getting the code off the turbo.

heres the pic which shows where the plate will be
