I have treid to remove my old exhaust tip from my car.

Tried everything - even a blow torch, hammer, and chisel but nothing will shift it.

Are they "ready attached" to the exhaust? Or has the heat bonded it on?

Can I sleeve another tip straight on top?

Cheers

It took me about an hour with a junior hacksaw, a big screwdriver and an even bigger hammer to get mine off!

Should just be a case of removing the 10mm bolt from underneath and sliding the old tip off but 10 years worth of rust meant that wasn't going to happen!

A blow torch won't give enough heat buddy. It'll need an Oxy/Acetaline plant and probably a junior hacksaw. Someone like Kwik-Fit would probably sort you out for a tenner or so cash. HTH.

The 10mm bolt was so rusted it sheared clean off.

I think I meant Oxy/Acetaline rather than blow torch.

I think it will just have to stay on and can come off when the exhaust goes!

Your obviously not being rough enough, I usually find that a cold chisel, lots of WD40 and a Bloody BIG HAMMER will shift anything exhaust related...:dgrin:

Cut a V in the sleeve where it goes over the exhaust..A Dremel is a ideal tool....
The cut out V will allow you to twist the tailpipe and loosten it away from the exhaust...
